Creating a gentler world with quill and canvas
In 1999, two divergent paths touched and brought two lives together. Shortly thereafter, Gail and Art married and quickly redefined their priorities in
life by embracing a shared vision of following one's true passions through unconditional support of each other's endeavors. In 2004, they took a
leap of faith and walked away from well-established careers and began 'Phase 2' by following their hearts that ultimately led them to Lazy Goose.
Considered one of America's foremost folk artists, Art Poulin has, within the last year alone, provided commissioned pieces to the US Army and Penguin Group publishing, and has had his works selected for Fox Broadcast's House and in Paramount Picture's celebrity 'swag bags' for the 83rd Academy Awards. His originals are in the finest art collections nationally, and his licenses extend internationally and include exclusive seasonal cards, calendars, puzzles, apparel, crafts, and home and garden decor in many premier retail stores. Before becoming a full-time artist, Art supported his country for 28 years of active duty as a tenor in the US Army chorus in Washington, DC. He is an accomplished pianist, having played at the Kennedy Center, and loves flower gardening. Gail Fraser began her writing career in 2004 with The Lumby Lines, which became the first of five novels in the acclaimed Lumby series published by Penguin Group, one of the most prestigious publishing houses in the world. Additionally, she has authored a dramatic epistolary (letters based) novel as well as a rhyming prose children's book, which is expected to be published next summer. Prior to becoming a full-time author, Gail had a long and successful executive career in corporate America which allowed her to travel to 24 countries and live internationally. Now closer to home, Gail is a frequent guest speaker at New England botanical conservancies and gardening clubs where she discusses one of her more serious passions: heirloom tomatoes. Art and Gail's collaboration - a 112-page, hardcover, illustrated inspirational book entitled Finding Happiness in Simplicity - will be released by Morris Publishing - Globe Pequot Press, in May 2012. This is the first book of their 'Simplicity' series. |
